Review Washington correspondent James Laurie, who has spent the past few weeks in Cambodia, was on board the aircraft-carrier USS Okinawa when the American refugees from Phnom Penh were airlifted to the waiting ship his report: on April 11, the American Embassy in Phnom Penh issued its last morning progress report on the Cambodian war. "With the defence perimeter steadily shrinking", it read, "government forces yesterday launched a number of aggressive actions and scored considerable success against communist forces."
