Summary / Abstract :
|
Bangkok: the treatment of the Lon Nol regime's soldiers and civil servants by the Khmer Rouge apparently sowed the seeds of resistance now surfacing in the Cambodian countryside. After the surrender of Phnom Penh eight months ago, word of executions spread and troops who had not surrendered then went into hiding in the jungle. Initially, they were scattered, disorganised and concerned only with survival. But now "free zones" are being formed and signs are that the Khmer Rouge are becoming concerned.
