At 1100 hours on 10th April, about 100 well-armed Cambodian troops intruded into Thai territory in Ban Laen, village group 4, Tambon Nong Ta Khong, Pong Nam Ron district, Chunthaburi province, and opened fire on the villagers and their homes in a most cruel manner. Three Thai nationals were seriously wounded. The border patrol police rushed to the scence and engaged the Cambodia troops for about an hour. The Cambodian troops were forced to retreat after setting fire to the people's house, damaging about 20 of them, and two barns.
