Summary / Abstract :
The new Cambodian military government vowed today that in spite of the grave military situation and the evacuation of the American Embassy yesterday, it would refuse in any circumstances to surrender to the communist-led insurgents who surround the capital. "We are determined to stay on to continue our resistance and to struggle alongside our people", Mr. Long Boret, the Prime Minister, told a press conference this afternoon. "There will be no surrender." He said that while continuing the military struggle, the government "would make every effort to persuade the other side to accept our ofter of a ceasefire."
