Thailand: Sanya's two navigators: During his visit to Thailand last year the U.S secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, according to high-level offecials in Thailand foreign Affairs Ministry, gave his view on the problem of U.S troops, planes and bases in Thailand.
Lao: Washington sits in relief eighteen month ago, the U.S government was heavily committed in the Kingdom of Laos. The major backer of the Vientiane government forces of Prime Minister Souvanna Phouma, it was supporting the 68,000 man Lao armed forces to the tune of about U.S $200 million a year, and shelling out a further $120 million or so in support of the 30 battalion force of Thai "irregullars" fighting in Lao on behalf of the Royal Lao Army. |
