Phnom Penh: Cambodia in one of the first items on the agenda of the United Nations' General Assembly Session, starting this month. but the actual debate on the country will probably not start before mid-october at the earliest, after member states have addressed the Assembly and other procedural matters have been completed. The question is whether the Khmer Republic, headed by president Lon Nol, should retain its UN seat, or if should be replaced by the Royal Government of National Union of Cambodia (GRUNK) headed by former Cambodian Chief-of-state Prince Norodom Sihanouk.
