As western news agencies reported that the Cambodian liberation army had for the first time moved 155-mm cannot within shelling range of the presidential place in Phnom Penh, the Cambodian liberation news agencies AKI published an article giving six reasons why the Lon Nol regime is on its last legs. First, notes the review, most of its troops have wiped out. Second the puppet government occupies less than 10 percent of the National territory, forming little urban islands cut off from each other. Third, the 85 percent of the people who live in the liberated areas are united against the Phnom Penh regime.
