The new operation "Toan Thang 1-71"mounted by 45,000 Saigon troops on the road 7 Krek-Kampong Cham front since November 22 last has suffered an initial heavy setback. On December 6, in the enemy thrust in the district of December, est of Kampong Cham a column of the 17 th armoured regiment, ambushed at 4 Km southwest of damber, had 12 vehicles distroyed.
