While administration official plead, with a note of desperation, for further American aid to Cambodia, and rice is airlifted into besieged Phnom Penh to a tragic climax. That congress will refuse more military assistance to the Lon Nol regime is highly probable. And good arguments can be adduced in to dicate that this despite the almost inevitable Kmer Rouge takeover that will follow, may well be in the self-interest of the united states and to the at last short-term benefit of the Cambodian people.
