Summary / Abstract :
Flying into Phnom Penh these day is an unnerving experience. The caravelle of air Cambodge, the only airline that dare to make the trip, lands more in the manner of a dive-bomber than a passenger aeroplane. As it plunges out of the sky at a 45 degree angle, you can almost there the protest of its wings. It lands at the city's Pochintong airport, which is only a few miles from the insurgent lines, between a T-28 fighter-bomber and a C-130 Cargo aircraft, and then taxies into a revetment of ammunition boxes filled with sand.
