It would be too much to expect that eight American lawmakers visiting Indochina for a week cold return with hard and fast political and military assessments that have eluded even the most knowledgeable experts. Their whirlwind visit was necessarily a superficial one. Yet the fact that even after such a short time on the scene some of them have altered thei perceptions of the American commitment have is significant.
