Summary / Abstract :

Ever since the beginning of February, when the last of the Mekong river convoys was turned back underblishtering fire, the government forces have faced disaster. Trying to do too much with too little, they fed battalions into the battle to keep the Mekong open and lost them one by one. Today, on the lower reaches of the river, the government flag flies only over Neak Luong which is under constant rocket, mortar and artillery fire.
