Peking is currently playing lost to promirent figures from two of southeast Asia's most mutually hostile countries-the rigidly ani-communist Thailand and the fiercely isolationst Cambodia since the Chinese are rarely known to do anything by accident, the current visits have led to do intense speculation here that China is embarking on a major diplomatic role in the troubled region on its southern flank.
