The LPRP central committee and the LPDR government held a grand rally in Vietiene on 16th July to welcome the SRV party and government delegation headed by Le Duan and Pham Van Dong. The presidium inchuded, on the Lao side, Kaysone Phomvihan, Souphanouvong, Nouhak Phoumsavan and other party and state headers.
