Life in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh under the Khmer Rouge regime that took power just over a year ago has been desscribed in detail by a defecting helicopter pilot who has just arrived in neighbouring Thailand. Lieutenant Pech Lim Kuon, aged 31, slipped away from Phnom Penh's Pochentong airport last Friday by helicopter and arrived in the border district of Tha Mai one-and-three quarter hours later.
