"The Khmer Rouge troops kept coming at us like robots with their submachineguns blazing," recalled Pvt Paethai Poon Kaew, one of the: 18-man BPP platoon guarding a temporary base at Ban Noi Parai on the night of the masscre. The Khmer Rouge invaders, estimated at over 300, attached Ban Parai, Ban Nong Dor and Ban Klong Kor Simul taneously at about 9.P.M. The imitation of a barking deer's call was used as the signal for attack. Shortly afterwards 33 villagers, including children and women, and a BPP trooper were massacred.
