Violence on the Cambodian-Thai frontier has not been stoped by the Thai foreign minister's fence-mending visit to Phnom Penh at the beginning of February. For the first few days after that meeting, continued attacks from the Cambodian side were charitably attributed the government's difficulties in bringing its border troops to heel. But then come a spectacular two-day morta attack on Klong Yai, a district capital, an assualt on Paet Um village in Ubon province, and the kidnapping of some 300 Thais.
