Summary / Abstract :
|
Kim Chantarit, who wrote for the review from Cambodia in happier times and who now lives in exile in the US, asserts that contrary to general belief the fall of the regime of Marshal Lon Nol on April 17, 1975, came as no surprise to many Cambodians. Reasons: the sad eventwas predicted by a famous native Soothsayer in the following terms (Prey Nokor is the Cambodian name for Saigon, and Angkor Wat was, of course, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire).
