Bangkok, Jan. 19 (NYT)-Vietnamese troops were reported today by Western analysts to be assaulting the famous temple ruins of Preah Vihear, an 11th Century sanctuary high on a steep cliff on the Thai border. The temple and its magnigicent stairway and gates are second in importance in Khmer culture lnly to the ruins of the royal city of Angkor.
