Phnom Penh is still the queen of South-East Asian capitals in spite of the devastation caused in three years by Pol Pot, whose forces are still fighting in the was of the country. Its wide boulevards are aflame with acacia, bauhinia, flame of the forest, and lagerstroemia, blossoms which lay fresh carpets on its footpaths daily.
