Summary / Abstract :
|
One of the most serious crimes perpetrated by the Pol Pot-Ieng Sary clique in Kampuchea before its downfall was the eradication of all religions. It has ordered the shelling of pagodas and Islamic mosque, destroyed pagoda and churches, forced the priest to leave their frocks, to quit places of worship and join "communes" for head labour. Statuesof Buddha and objects of cult were demaged or destroyed. Many pagodas were dured into depots for rice, manure or arms.
