Nothing that Contradictory reports were coming from Cambodia about the fighting, with the pro-Vietnamese regime saying that Pol Pot's forces had been defeatd and the "Voice of Democratic Kampuchea" saying that fighting was continuing, Tanjug said (in English 1743 gmt 13 Feb 1979) in a dispatch from Thailand: "It is a fact that heavy fighting has been under way during the past few days in the regions near the border with Thailand and that atillery fire is clearly heard in the Thai border regions.
