The Foreign Minister of Singapore condemned Vietnam's action as "Third World imperialism". A Thai diplomat urged greater international pressure to force Hanoi to pull its troops out of Cambodia. And at the United Nations General Assembly, Vietnam found itself on the wrong side of an important roll-call vote. But as worldwide criticism mounted in an apparent attemp to isolate Vietnam, Hanoi went back on the military offensive in Cambodia. "The Vietnamese are gearing up to have another bash at the Khmer Rouge", said one Asian diplomat in Hong Kong. "This time, they want to wipe them off the face of the map".
