|
The refugees trudged wearily through the dust-barefoot and clad in rags. Many on them were sick, old or bereft of their families. They were headed for the newly built Khao I Dang refugee camp 12 miles inside Thailand, the vanguard of a vast new exodus of Cambodian power struggle began, the Thai Government had officially and openly offered sanctuary to the victims of the fighting even though that decision could mean taking in as many as one-half million homeless people.
