Bangkok: US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and the Pacific Richard Holbrooke was tired after his long fight from the United State with American First Lady Rosalynn Carter. But what he saw during a preview of a TV videotape filmed only 12 hours earlier on the Thai-Kampuchea border clearly stunned him. It showed mortar and artillery rounds falling on a civilian refugees camp, thousands of ragged Kampucheans fleeing for their lives and the ineritable bodies.
