Madame Monique Sihanouk and Wang Kuang-mei go back a long way-even before Wang's husband, Liu Shao-chi, fell afoul of Chairman Mao Tse-tung during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. After humiliating sessions with the Red Guards, the couple slipped into oblivion, it was only this year, under a changed political dimate, that their rehabilitation looked possible.
