Sick and weary after trudging 18 miles over tough mountain terrain, thousands of Cambodians of Cambodian refugees slumped to the ground. They had reached the village of Ban Khlong Kaithuan in Thailand, but for many it was too late. Parents cradled dying children in their arms.
