Sophuong Bopha confessed that Khieu Chhay joined the CIA in 1973 through the network of Phet Bun Lim, Hao Thouren, Tiv Kouset, and himself. In July 1975, Chhay reconnected his old network. After the Angkar purged his superior, Chhay had the links with Un Ong, Yin Laom and Um Son.
ឈ្មោះ សូភួង បូផា បានឆ្លើយថា ឈ្មោះ ខៀវ ឆាយ ចូលសេអ៊ីអា ក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ក្នុងខ្សែភេទ ប៊ុនលឹម, ហោ ធូរេន, ទីវ គូសិត និង ខ្លួន។ ខែ៧-១៩៧៥ ឆាយ មកភ្ជាប់ខ្សែចាស់វិញ។ ក្រោយមកអង្គការដកមេចេញ ឆាយមកភ្ជាប់ខ្សែជាមួយអ៊ុន អុង, យិន ឡោម និង អ៊ុំ សុន។
