Blank picture frames in the Army Museum in Hanoi attest to the removal of the Chinese from Vietnam's record of revolutionary glory. Mao and Chou Enlai used to have their place of honor on the walls above Ho Chi Minh's Mauser and the trombone played in 1945 at the proclamation of Independence.
