It's not easy to get lunch in Battambang. There is no money in Cambodia-that was out lawed five years ago by the regime of the former premier, Pol Pot. So we carried a bag of rice to the tiny restaurant in the market place of this City near the Thai border in the northeast of Cambodia, and bargained for a rice- and-omelet lunch. It cost nine condensed milk coins of rice per person.
