Summary / Abstract :

Recently the outflow of Vietnamese refugees has been resumed. A total of 10,496 Vietnamese boat people landed in Southeast Asian countries and regions in May, said a spokesman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. A further 6,288 refugees from Laos and Vietnam arrived in Thailand over land in May. The increase in numbers is expected to continue in June.
