Nong Chan Camp, Thailand - Serious food shortages in Cambodia are driving inhabitants into this hazardous border region in growing numbers and increasing the pressures on the Phnom Penh Government and its Guerrilla foes. The shortages, attributable largely to an erratic monsoon that ruined crops with drought and flooding, have dashed the hopes expressed by some UN relief officials only a couple of months ago that Cambodia would be self-sufficient in food production by year's end.
ជំរុំ នុង ចាន់ ប្រទេសថៃ កង្វះអាហារយ៉ាងធ្ងន់ធ្ងរក្នុងប្រទេសកម្ពុជាកំពុងជម្រុញឱ្យប្រជាជនដែល រស់នៅក្នុងតំបន់គ្រោះថ្នាក់តាមបណ្ដោយព្រំដែនកំពុងបានកើនឡើង និង បង្កើនសម្ពាធលើរដ្ឋាភិបាលក្រុងភ្នំពេញ និង កងទ័ពព្រៃរបស់សត្រូវ។ បណ្ដាលមកពីភាគច្រើនទៅខ្យល់មូសុងខុសប្រក្រតី ដែលខូចខាតផលដំណាំដោយគ្រោះរាំងស្ងួតនិង ទឹកជំនន់ បានធ្វើឱ្យបំផ្លាញក្ដីសង្ឈឹមដោយមន្ដ្រីជួយសង្គ្រោះរបស់អង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិថាប្រទេសកម្ពុងជានឹងក្លាយជាប្រទេសផលិតស្ឃៀងអាហារគ្រប់គ្រាន់ដោយខ្លួន នៅបព្ចាប់ឆ្នាំនេះ។
