M. Om Luot un des Chefs Militaires du Front National de Libération du Peuple Khmer (F.N.L.P.K) a été assassiné le 11 Octobre près de la frontère Khméro-Thailandaise par des inconnus. Il a été remplacé par M. Lajoh Kinmeng. Cet assassinat a conduit le Chef du F.N.L.P.K M. Son Sann, à écourter son séjour aux Nations Unies pour revenir auprès de ses troupes.
