Summary / Abstract :

On March 5, 1979, sixteen leaders of Cambodian resistance to groups met in Cambodia's jungle and agreed to join their armed groups to form the Khmer People's National liberation Armed Forces (KPNLAF) to fight for the liberation of the Cambodian People and Cambodia from the military occupation of Cambodia by the armed forces of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which invaded Cambodia in late December 1978 and installed a puppet regime in Phnom Penh on 7 January 1979, and to oppose "inhuman regime" which had practiced an "unprecendented genocide" against Cambodian people.
