Any faint hopes that may have existed of a breakthrough on Vietnam ASEAN relation falled to materialise during the recent visit to Jakarta by Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Co Thach, Hanoi had nothing new to offer on Cambodia and nothing new to offer on Cambodia and Jakarta appeared to insist that any new diplomatic move must be in line with the latest United Nations resolution on the Cambodia dispute and with last year's UN International Conference on Kampuchea resolution.
