Summary / Abstract :

This was followed in late January 1985 by an explicit Vietnamese proposal for a settlement involving a Vietnamese withdrawal in return for exclusion of the Pol Pot "genocidal clique". When China a few days later demanded that the latter not be excluded, the age misleadingly proclaimed " China demands role for Khmer", while the Australian went further with (China seeks a free Kampuchea.)
