Summary / Abstract :
|
When the Vietnamese marched into Kampuchea in 1978 they believed as occupying armies optimistically do that plently of local people could be recruited to make the country safe against dissidents. Seven years later they know differently. When the heavy rians ease off at the end of this month, and it becomes ossible for army trucks to move along Kampuchea's often rudimentary roads, the Vietnamese accept that they themselves will again have to bear the wearisome burden of fighting the guerrillas who still resist their presence in the country.
