Le secrétaire Général des Nations Unies, kofi annan, a exprimé la désapprobation de l'organisation à un procès qui n'impliquerait pas l'ensemble del'ancienne directin du mouvement Khmer Rouge, comme le domandent notamment les Etats-Unis.Le premier ministre Cambodgien Hun Sen n'entend pas se laisser déposséder ds procédures judiciaires éventuelles à lencontre des responsables du génocide Khmer.
