It has been several months since the last Americans left Cambodia. Soon after the collapse of the besieged Lon Nol regime, the American public began to receive reports through the press and from the state Department that the new Khmer Rouge government was exacting severe retribution upon the civilian population through the forced evacuation of the urban areas.
