Summary / Abstract :

On April 17, 1975, communist forces occupied the cambodian capital of PP and by January 5, 1976, as tons of thousands of Cambodians were being herded from the cities into the countryside to work in food production and other collectives, a new constitution had been promulgated that officially charge Cambodia's name to "Democratic Kampuchea." According to this new constitution, Democratic Kampuchea is "independent, unified, peaceful, newtral, non-aligned sovereign and democratic," accountry of "territorial integrity."
