Summary / Abstract :
|
On January 1 visited S-21 an interrogation center and death camp that had been set up by the Khmer Rouge at the edge of Phnom Penh. Tuol Sleng, as it is now referred to by the local population, had been a beautiful high school complex; in its new roles the school was divided so that some rooms were left open for torture and interrogation and others were partitioned into small individual cells about four feet by six feet; still other rooms were used for extensive documentation.
