Sin Poeu, male, is 48 years old. He was born in Banteay Chey village, Speu sub-district, Chamkar Leu district, Kampong Cham province. Today, he lives in Kbal Spean village, Malai commune, Malai district, Banteay Meanchey province. His father was named Sien and his mother was named Hai. Poeu studied only until grade 10 of the old system at Banteay Meanchey pagoda. When the Khmer Rouge took over in 1975, Poeu worked in the children៌s unit. In 1978, he was appointed to be a messenger in Teuk Chreou district. His tasks were to send letters and to protect his boss, Peun. In 1979, Poeu and other soldiers in his fled to the border crossing at Srong mountain, Kha-ae Tum, but they were stopped by Vietnamese troops in Me Mot. Poeu set off from Ou Reang Ov to Neak Leung and finally arrived in Phnom Penh. When the Khmer Rouge ran out of weapons, Poeu went to live at Malai, Cambodia-Thailand border. In 1983-1984, because the war with Vietnam had grown stronger, Poeu fled to Ta Ngoc៌s camp and got married there. Later, he moved to live in Chhat Mountain with his family. He returned to Malai district in 1990.
