Ung Ren, male, 70 years old and lives in Phdiek Chrum village, Pha-Av commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Ren is a former chief of division 607 of the KR between early 1980s and 1999. Ren was a deputy governor of Trapeang Prasat district between 2000 and 2010. Currently, Ren is a member of Trapeang Prasat district council. Ren៌s wife៌s name is Phoeuk Roth, 50 years old. Ren has one daughter and three sons.

Ren was born in the year of Monkey (70 years old) in Taing Po village, Prambei Mom commune, Thporng district, Kampong Speu province. Ren៌s father៌s name is Khatt and his mother, Sim. His parents died after 1979. Ren has four brothers and three sisters. Ren is third in his family. Ren went to school just only a few years when he was young.

In 1968, Ren went into forest and joined with the KR movement at Oral Mountain. However, Ren returned home soon after the Coup d៌état in March 1970. However, Ren ran into forest againafter he stayed at his home for a short period. Ren was with a KR leader, Cheng An who was a chief of Region 15 of special Zone.

In 1973, the KR created as the Division 14 and Ren joined with the Division. Ren was appointed as a chief of Regiment 16/82. The regiment was operated around Ang Snuol and Am Laing areas. So Saroeun (05) and Miech San (06) were chief and deputy chief of the Division. Keo Saroeun was a chief of regiment 15/81; and Thin and Leu were leaders of regiment 17/83. Thin and Leu are indigenous people, who៌s come from Northeast Zone.

After the KR gained victory in April 1975, Ren៌s regiment was near Boeng Bayap and worked in rice field. In late 1975, the KR changed code number of the Division from Division 14 to Division 801. After then the KR sent the Division 801 to Ratanak Kiri province. There, Ren៌s regiment operated along Cambodia-Lao border within Siem Pang And Dom Kralor of Stung Treng province.

In 1977, the KR leaders invited leaders of Division 801 and Division 920 of Mondul Kiri to attend a meeting in Phnom Penh. Ren was among the Divisions leaders to attend the meeting in Phnom Penh. After the meeting, the KR៌s leaders requested Ren to stand by at General Staff៌s office in Phnom Penh. There, the KR leaders had arranged marriage for him. Ren was at the general staff for one year. In 1978, Ren returned his division in Ratanak Kiri. At that time, he was promoted to be one of the Division៌sleaders.

When the Vietnamese arrived in Cambodia in January 1979, Ren and his soldiers were in forest within Ratanak Kiri province. In 1980 Ren crossed Mekong River from east to west banks and climbed Dangrek Mountain. Ren and the soldiers were arrived in Tonle Ropeou, KR Military Base [1001] in late 1980. In mid 1980s, the KR created a new Division. The division was called Division 607. The KR assigned Ren to supervise the Division.
