Summary
Keat Kuok alias Ron, male, 56 years old and lives in Sen Sam village, O-Svay commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. His wife is Say Kuoy. Kuok has 10 children. Kuok is a farmer. Kuok was born in Sre Prey village, Chang Krang commune, Kratie district, Kratie province. Kuok៌s father and mother had been a chief and deputy chief of Kasang៌s cooperative since 1973. Kuok volunteered to join the KR revolution in 1973. First, Kuok joined Art Performance Unit in Chang Krang commune. Sey was a chief of the unit. After the KR gained the power in April 1975, Kuok was sent by the KR to D4 military unit and he had a duty to patrol at Airfield in Kratie town. Kuon was a chief of the military unit. Yi and another Kuon were chief and deputy chief of Autonomous Region 505. In 1978, the KR sent Dul, [Ta] Nhann and other cadres from Southwest zone to replace Yi; and Kuon as leaders of the region. Kuok heard that Yi; and Kuon were arrested and sent to Phnom Penh by the KR. Kuok added that there was one regiment 140 within the Region 505. Boeun was a chief of the regiment. [Ta] Ith was chief of battalion 110; and Pring was a chief of battalion 160. Also in 1978, the KR sent Kuok and other soldiers to operate Cambodia-Vietnam border from Keo Seima to Memot districts of Mondul Kiri and Kampong Cham provinces. When the Vietnamese entered in Cambodia in January, 1979 Kuok and other crossed from west to east banks of Mekong River at Koh Rongiev of Kratie province and walked to Phnom Chi of Kampong Thom Province. In 1980, Kuok married to his cousin at Phnom Chi and then Kuok and his wife climbed Dangrek Mountain at Tonle Ropeou, the KR military base [1001]. Kuok was in Division 417. Ke Pauk was a chief of the Division. Aftermath, the KR sent Kuok to operate at Phnom Chi again. In 1981, Kuok was injured and sent to hospitalize at military base [1001]. He was at medical center for three months. After leaving the hospital, Kuok was in Transportation Unit. He used to carry military weapon for the soldiers at Phnom Chi. In 1984, the KR of [1001] moved to [1003] when the Vietnamese and PRK operated at the [1001]. Kuok was at village of 40 and 50. Kuok was in O-Trav៌s refugee camp of Thailand territory later. After the Vietnamese withdrew from Cambodia in 1989, Kuok and other KR families went down to live near Preah Pralay៌s border checkpoint. In 1997, Kuok moved to O-Svay village when the KR had internal conflict between Ta Mok and Pol Pot forces. In 1998, Kuok integrated with the Cambodian government. At that time, the KR ordered Kuok and other two soldiers carried ballots from O-Svay to Siem Reap province. However, [Ta] Mok forces stopped and destroyed the ballots.
