After the marriage, Savang lived and worked in rice field with her parents in law in Sa-Ang village, Sa-Ang commune and district, Kandal province. In 1976, the KR assigned Savang to work in communal kitchen hall. In 1977, the KR sent Savang to her husband, who was in Ratanak Kiri with Division 801. Savang៌s husband was radia-communicator of the Division. There, Savang was in Bokeo district of Ratanak Kiri province. In 1979, Saroeun sent Savang and husband to division៌s office and fled to Cambodia-Thailand along with other people in the office. In 1990, Savang was in Preah Pralay, Trapeang Prasat district.
