Sat Oeun, female, over 50 years old and lives in Tuol Prasat village, Tomnop Dach commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Oeun is ethnic Kroeng. Oeun husband is Ing Sokheang. Oeun has two daughters.
Oeun was born in Krala village, Meng commune, O-Chum district, Ratanak Kiri province. Oeun៌s father is Chrang and her mother, Baey. Oeun has three sisters. Oeun is youngest in her family. Oeun did not go to school when she was young. Oeun cannot able to read and write. In 1975, Oeun៌s family was evacuated to Veunsai district. Oeun was in O-Chres village. There, the KR forced them to work in rice field. In 1976, the KR selected Oeun to work as a worker at textile factory in Banlong. [Ta] Sovann was a chief of the factory. Oeun knew that the KR killed many people when she worked at the factory. In 1979, Oeun fled to Tonle Sre Pauk along with the KR because she feared that Vietnamese would kill her if she returned to her home village. In 1980, Oeun and other KR crossed from east to west banks of MeKong River and walked to Dangrek Mountain at Mom Bei, Tonle Ropeou. In 1984, Oeun and other moved to the KR៌s Kor 7 refugee camp when the Vietnamese took over almost Cambodia- Thailand border. In 1990, Oeun went down to live in Anlong Veng when [Ta] Mok took over the area. |
