Summary

Nuon Yong, male, 58 years old and lives in Tuol Char village, Tomnop Dach commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Yong was born in Virak Chey commune, Ba Phnom district, Prey Veng province.
Yong studied grade 8 (old system) when he was young. Yong volunteered to join the KR because King Sihanouk appeared for young Cambodia to join the KR in forest. First, Yong was a militiaman of Virak Chey commune, and then he served as a soldier of Ba Phnom district for one year.
In 1975, Yong was emerged as a soldier of Region 24. Chhouk was a chief of the region.
In 1978, the KR created a new division. It was called Division 805. Phan and Sok Sen alias Roeun were chief and deputy chief of the division. There were four regiments include Regiment 70, Regiment 71, Regiment 72, Regiment 73, Regiment 74 of the division. Houy was a chief Regiment 70. Sok Sen was also a chief of regiment 71. Leat was chief regiment 72. Sarim was chief of Regiment 73. Sem was chief of Regiment 74. Division 805 operated along border Cambodia-Vietnam in Peam Ro, Kampong Trabek districts of Prey Veng province.
In late 1978, Yong married to his wife. In 1979, Yong and his wife ran into Cambodia-Thai border. Yong was at Chamkar Kor, Malai. There, Yong joined KR division 519. [Ta] Yorn and Dul Saroeun were chief and deputy chief of the division. The division was operated within Phnom Srok, Svay Chek Thmar Puok; and Kbal Leav.
In 1987, [Ta] Mok searched for soldiers whose came from Prey Veng province and [Ta] Mok proposed those soldiers to operate in their home province. The KR took Yong and other who came from Prey Veng to the KR military base [1003]. There, Yong was in Division 801, and then the KR sent him to operate in Kampong Cham province for three years.
After the KR took over Anlong Veng in 1990, Yong returned to live in Choam Sla and went down to live in Tomnop Dach. In 1997, Yong used to carry Pol Pot and Khieu Samphan to O-Svay in purpose to escape from [Ta] Mok. However, [Ta] Mok forces arrested Pol Pot and Khieu Samphan at O-Svay. In 1998, Yong integrated with the Cambodian government and returned to live in Tomnop Dach until today
