Summary
Khi Mil, female, Ethnic Kavet, over 50 years old and lives with a Buddhis monk in Tomnop Dach pagoda, Tuol Pongro village, Tomnop Dach village, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Mil was born in Ta Le of Ratanak Kiri province. Mil៌s father is Baing and her mother, Chhap. Mil has only elder sister, Ma. Mil៌s husband៌s name is Chak Roeun who is Kampuchea Krom. Roeun was a soldier of Division 801 when the division operated in Ratanak Kiri province. Roeun was killed by Vietnamese during mid-1980s. Mil has one son and one daughter. Mil joined the KR movement when the KR came to her village in early 1970s. After the KR came to power in 1975, Mil was in Mobile Brigade Unit. In 1976, the KR selected Mil to Division 801. When the Vietnamese entered Cambodia in January 1979, Mil and other indigenous people fled along with Division 801. In 1980 Mil climbed up Dangrek Mountain at Mom Bei. Mil was at the KR military base [1001]. After the KR integrated with the Cambodian government in 1999, Mil decided that she did not return to her home village in Ratanak Kiri province because she has spot of land and farm in Trapeang Prasat district. Moreover, her children want to live with Khmer community.
