Summary / Abstract :

To hear radio Hanoi tell it , the Cambodian government was on the brink of collapse. Khmer Rouge soldiers had mutinied, murdered their commanding officers and seized control of several important road and an airport. Factory workers and peasants, drivers to revolutionary rage by hunger, overwork and mass executions, were rising against the "Pol Pot, Ieng Sary clique."
