I am Beng Chann Than, a male, currently living in Preah Theat Village, Prek Sdei Commune, Koh Thom District, Kandal Province. I would like to file a complaint against the detention of my elder brother, Beng Pum, in Tuol Sleng Prison. Before 1970, my elder brother quit the monkhood and joined the army in order to fight against Thiv Ky. Before Phnom Penh was liberated, he managed to visit home a few times.
The last time my elder brother visited home was about 1976. Since then, I have never seen him again. When he visited us, we didn’t talk much. He stayed with us for two or three days. Since that visit, I have never received any information about him or his whereabouts. Only recently was I informed by the Documentation Center of Cambodia that my elder brother was detained in Tuol Sleng Prison. He was later released, however, he never returned home. I think that he is dead. |
